Indira Priyadarsini Law College, the first law college in Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh was established in the 1990-91 academic year in Ongole, the district headquarters. Initially offering a three-year LL.B. program with 160 seats (2 sections x 80), the college expanded in 2000-01 to include a five-year LL.B. course with 80 seats. In the 2023-24 academic year, the college further broadened its academic offerings by introducing the LL.M program with two specialized branches: Constitutional and Administrative Law, and Corporate and Securities Law, each with an intake of 20 seats. The college is affiliated with Andhra Kesari University and approved by the Bar Council of India, with its own campus spreading across an acre in Pelluru, Ongole.

Dedicated to nurturing skilled legal professionals, the institution provides modern facilities and emphasizes both theoretical and practical aspects of legal education. Under the guidance of late Sri Bathini Narasimha Rao Garu, former Secretary and Correspondent, the college introduced activities in the 2007-08 academic year to enhance students' communication skills and prepare them for dynamic legal careers.
